On March 22nd, INNOV-ACTS LTD gave an invited talk to individualized and horizontal training series of the LeADS Legality Attentive Data Scientists ETN Project (H2020-MSCA-ITN-2020). The training was targeted to the project’s Early-Staged Researchers (ESRs) aiming at enhancing their skills and competences on research grant proposal preparation. The seminar topic was on Research Grant Preparation & Management.

During the seminar, the Horizon Europe funding scheme which supports research and innovation and set out funding opportunities for researchers was presented outlining the different funding schemes of the programme. Furthermore, it focused on on guiding researchers on how to apply for grants under this programme. In particular, it introduced the ESRs to the core elements of a successful research grant proposal including the structuring of a project idea, creating a realistic budget, searching for partners, putting together an expert advisory board, effectively communicating project results and staying up to date with grant management requirements. Hands-on examples from existing proposals were provided to demonstrate how to conceptualize project insights, results and outcomes aiming to maximize project impact.
