INNOV-ACTS hosted Marie Curie Fellow Milena Di Nenno presented her PhD research at the MCIS 2025 held in Nantes on 1-4 October 2025. Her work, part of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions AGORA project, investigates how to balance responsibility and profitability in the metaverse through business model choices.
At the conference, she also engaged with panels and keynotes on emerging technologies and digital responsibility, drawing insights from sessions on governance, social and ethical implications of emerging technologies. In parallel, she shared a research-in-progress study on the key factors that motivate metaverse creators to share digital assets on metaverse platforms, with early evidence that strong IP protections increase their willingness to contribute, even on smaller platforms, and plans to further examine monetization, creator tools, governance transparency, licensing, and interoperability. Finally, together with other AGORA Doctoral Candidates, she joined a VR game session that underscored how immersion can catalyze collaboration and deepen learning.
A full recap and future updates on this work will be shared through INNOV-ACTS channels as the AGORA project advances evidence-based pathways for metaverse development and business models in the metaverse.
