On January 14th, 2026, the AI Enables Cybersecurity Meetup took place at the COSMOTE premises in Athens, Greece. The event was organized by COSMOTE and supported by the Digital Europe projects VIGILANCE and CyberAID.

As part of the meetup, Innov-acts moderated a panel discussion titled “Collaborative Cyber Defense in the AI Era,” bringing together researchers and experts from academia and industry to exchange views on current challenges and future directions in AI-enabled cybersecurity.

The discussion highlighted the need for improved guardrails and design-time mechanisms to strengthen the cyber-resilience of large language models. Participants also discussed the role of Data Spaces as trusted and sovereign instruments for sharing cybersecurity data, alongside the ongoing reluctance of some critical infrastructure operators to disclose vulnerability-related information. In addition, the panel explored how AI Factories, such as Pharos, can support innovation in cybersecurity by providing infrastructure, tools, and skills, including for SMEs. The importance of the EU regulatory framework was also addressed, with reflections on possible targeted refinements in the future.

The meetup provided a constructive forum for knowledge exchange and collaboration on the evolving role of AI in cybersecurity.
